Lazarus was awakened from the dead. This mixed media takes a number of image relating to death and resurrection. the primary image, a person whose face is painted in a traditional death mask. The photo images at the bottom right corner of the painting are from store windows in a Hispanic neighborhood in Los Angeles where religious items, candles, beads, scapulars and statues were sold.This piece is on canvas. The primary photograph is applied and the canvas is painted with acrylic. Additional images are added using image transfer techniques. Additional acrylic with texture is added. finally the images in the right corner are an under image photo copy with a color transparency image applied over the photocopy.
